Snooze Guard
Keep your Mac awake for 5 minutes, 24 hours or until you turn it off. Let the display sleep while the Mac keeps working, or switch it on automatically when an external display is connected.
A tiny menu bar app for your Mac. Snooze Guard keeps it awake through downloads, renders and presentations. Auto Eject takes your external drives offline before it sleeps and brings them back when it wakes.
Works with HDDs, SSDs, SD cards, disk images, discs and network drives
Two tools, one menu
Keep your Mac awake for 5 minutes, 24 hours or until you turn it off. Let the display sleep while the Mac keeps working, or switch it on automatically when an external display is connected.
Before your Mac sleeps, the screen locks or the screensaver starts, SnoozeDock takes your external drives offline safely. When you come back, they're mounted again.
If an app is holding a drive open, SnoozeDock names it and offers Force Eject.
Unmount one drive, fully eject another, and leave the rest alone.
Keep Mac Awake, Eject External Drives and more, from Shortcuts or Spotlight.
Snooze Guard turns off below your battery limit or in Low Power Mode.
A backup in progress is stopped cleanly before its drive goes offline.
Lives in the menu bar, with no Dock icon. Full Disk Access is optional.
How it works
macOS asks to sleep. SnoozeDock holds it for up to 20 seconds while drives go offline.
Each selected drive is unmounted or ejected, and remembered even if the app restarts.
No half-written files and no warnings, even if a USB hub loses power overnight.
After a short delay for docks to power up, each drive is found by its ID and remounted.
